The Church of the Advent is located at the corner of Mount Vernon and Brimmer Streets on the “flat” of Beacon Hill. See the map below.
Mount Vernon Street runs from the State House at the top of Beacon Hill down to Storrow Drive, crossing Charles Street about halfway between Charles Circle and the Public Garden or Boston Common. The landmarks on either side of this intersection are a coffee shop and the historic Charles Street Meeting House. Brimmer Street runs one-way from Pinckney Street, one block north of Mount Vernon, to Beacon Street, meeting the latter next to the Hampshire House or Bull and Finch Pub (otherwise known as “Cheers”).
